Project #1: Listening and Leadership

Objectives: Determine current listening skills; identify the seven steps to better listening; practice various listening skills in various club meeting roles

Practice listening skills by serving in three of the four roles listed: evaluator, table topics Speaker, Ah-counter, or Grammarian

 

Project #2 Critical Thinking

Objectives: Determine your current thinking skills; practice critical thinking skills in various club roles

Practice critical thinking skills while serving in two of the three roles listed: Evaluator, Grammarian, or General Evaluator

 

Project #3 Giving Feedback

Objectives: Determine your current skills giving feedback; identify the steps in giving feedback effectively; practice giving feedback as you serve in various meeting roles

Practice feedback skills while serving in the three meeting roles listed: Evaluator, Grammarian, General Evaluator

 

Project #4 Time Management

Objectives: Determine your current time management skills; identify the steps to effectively manage time; practice time management skills in various club roles

Practice time management skills while serving as timer and one of the four remaining meeting roles listed: Toastmaster, Speaker, Grammarian, or Table Topics Master

 

Project #5 Planning and Implementation

Objectives: Determine current planning and implementation skills; identify steps in planning and implementation; practice planning and implementation skills in various club roles

Practice planning and implementation skills while serving in three of the four roles listed: Speaker, General Evaluator, Toastmaster, Table Topics Master

 

Project #6 Organizing and Delegating

Objectives: Determine current skills in organizing and delegating; identify steps in the organization and delegation process; practice skills in organizing and delegating during various club roles

Practice organizing and delegating while serving in any one of the roles listed: Help Organize a Speech Contest, Help Organize a Club Special Event, Help Organize a Club Membership Drive, Help Organize a Public Relations Campaign

 

Project #7 Developing Your Facilitation Skills

Objectives: Determine your present facilitation skills; identify facilitation strategies; practice facilitation skills in various meeting roles

Practice facilitation skills while serving in two of the four meeting roles listed: Toastmaster, General Evaluator, Table Topics Master, Befriend a Guest at a Club Meeting

 

Project #8 Motivating People

Objectives: Determine current motivational skills; identify conditions that motivate people; practice motivational skills while serving in club roles

Practice motivational skills while serving in three of the four roles listed: Membership Campaign or Contest Chair, Public Relations Campaign Chair, Toastmaster, Evaluator, General Evaluator

 

Project #9 Mentoring

Objectives: Determine current mentoring skills; identify steps to being a good mentor; practice mentoring skills in various roles

Practice mentoring skills while serving in one of the three roles listed: Mentor a New Member, Mentor an Experienced Member, Guidance Committee Member for a High Performance Leadership Project

 

Project #10 Team Building

Objectives: Determine current team building skills; identify steps in team building; practice team building skills while serving in various roles

Practice team building skills while serving as both Toastmaster and General Evaluator or by serving in one of the following roles: Club Membership Campaign or Contest Chair, Club Public Relations Campaign Chair, Club Speech Contest Chair, Club Special Event Chair, Club Newsletter Editor or Webmaster
